While walking down the single bottles of beer isle at our local wine and liquor warehouse, a luring picture caught my attention, Dogfish Head's Ancient Ale "Chateau Jiahu". In marvel of what this drink was composed of, it read : pre-gelatinized rice flakes, Wildflower honey, Muscat grapes, barley malt, hawthorn fruit, and Chrysanthemum flowers. This particular bottle was the last one on the shelf and its enticement had me overwhelmingly convinced that "I just had to buy it".
My husband and I befittingly shared it over a P.F. Chang-make-at-home meal. At first sip, I fell in love with the drink's charm. Yes, it is one of those "fruity beers", but it was not overly sweet like sparkling fruit juice. In order for me to give a proper description of my experience, I need to first do more research about how to properly taste a beer and its characteristics. However, be not in dismay for lack of a description, I loved this beer. At the very least, here is the Dogfish Head's explanation to how Chateau Jiahu came to be:

Cheers to new tastes!
