The beginning of my journey

I love to eat good food. When I experience something not so palatable or not up to my assumed expectations about a meal, I feel a discontentment that lasts through the rest of the day. A discontentment that expended money, time and effort that cannot be refunded, and the only way to compensate for such negative feelings is to, again, invest more time, money and effort to produce something that is at least satisfactory. If each moment of life is to not be wasted or thought of as a disappointment, I am making it a goal to ensure that everything I consume leaves me feeling content in taste,health satisfaction and in my wallet.

I have over settled in too many sub par food experiences that it makes me sick - such as already made refrigerated cookie dough that I may have eaten and may have known of the preservatives and evil hydrogenated oils it contained; the hydrogenated oils that only add to my body fat percentage. If I am going to enjoy a cookie, I am going to only ensure that it is homemade with whole ingredients.

Goals that will guide my journey:
  • discover a new combination of ingredients each week
  • not eating anything that is highly processed, contains preservatives and/or hydrogenated oils
  • making each meal matter - no haphazard cooking allowed in my kitchen.
