Okay, this past week has been two thumbs down in good tasting food. I have got to find creative ways to creat tastey dishes on a low budget this week. Our pantry is full of spices and I know there is the potential to create umami - delicious taste. Let's take a visit to www.allrecipes.com:
Monday Meal: Tastey Tuna Burgers w/homemade wheat buns

Tuesday Meal (This needs to also cover Wed and Thurs):
Gourmet Chicken Pizza on Whole Wheat Crust: http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Gourmet-Chicken-Pizza/Detail.aspx#
Slow Cooked Soy Venison http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Slow-Cooked-Teriyaki-Venison/Detail.aspx#
Friday: To Be Determined - maybe salmon?
I also need to properly budget purchasing meats - do I want to buy in bulk at Costco or buy what I need for the week at the commissary? What's the better deal?
My husband is needing to eat about 3400 calories a day. Each recipe I cook should last for at least two meals for our small family of 3 if not more. I loathe boring food and it was definitely boring this past week - a makeover is necessary for our new diets.
Anyways, cheers to a better vittle week!
