If there is one thing I smell for before tasting, it's wondering if I will immediately smell the ethanol upon first sniff or if I can actually smell grapes. Fortunately, I smelled the sweetness of the grapes. I'm not sure what blend of grapes were used. As for the body, I'd say medium to full body; leaning more on the full body side. This was definitely on the sweet side, regardless what the sample lady said, I didn't trust her wine opinion anyway. I really don't know why she said this was on the dryer side. It is definitely sweet for a red wine blend. Then again, it's a $10 bottle of red wine. My personal opinion: a little too sweet for my red wine taste. The good things about this wine, the taste begins and ends smooth with a noticeable grape aftertaste. However, if you're a beginner and are trying to make your way into liking red wine, this could be a start. I like a little more tannins to my reds, but that's just me. Cheers!
